Work you can see.
In every building we manage.
We grew from 15 people to almost 50, and now we’re going global. Here you’ll learn how things work at FLOWBOX – from the people who work here – and what to expect when you apply.

Hiring now
This year we started building Flowbox Next Gen a from-scratch rebuild of our energy management platform. We're looking for someone to own the full-stack and IoT layer, from the first commit to production.
A DevOps engineer to keep our hybrid infrastructure (Debian servers, Azure, IoT gateways) automated and reliable, and help design the architecture of our new platform, Flowbox NG, from scratch.
At FLOWBOX, we develop cutting-edge software for energy management – and we’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect to help bring our solutions to life. You will be a key technical support for projects, partners, and customers, and your ideas will be reflected in the real operation of smart buildings and industrial sites.

It all started
with one house
In 2012, Petr Vaněk, then head of R&D at T-Mobile CE, digitised his own house. Smart home before anyone was talking about it. It worked so well that he took it to industry. One of the first customers was Baumruk & Baumruk.
Tomáš Macák soon joined, and together they took FLOWBOX into real estate and smart cities. In 2018 Tomáš Rendla came on board, and with him the road abroad. Today we’re used by ASSA ABLOY and AGC, and we’re featured in Gartner’s overview of energy management systems. All three founders are still active at FLOWBOX today.
For years we were ahead of the market. Now the market is ready for us.
“When you have an idea, you don’t need sign-off from ten managers. You can make it happen fast.”
Buildings use about a third of the world’s energy, and few people know exactly where it goes. FLOWBOX maps it first, then controls it so less is needed. Electricity, heat, gas and water.
For a long time we were solving problems companies didn’t know they had yet. Then things turned. We partnered with Fortune 500 company Eaton, Gartner included us in its reports three years in a row, and since 2022 our team has more than tripled.
Now we’re changing from a local tech company into a global player. More people, more processes, more offices. For anyone joining now, that’s an opportunity: a lot is still being set up, and you can shape it. What we want to keep is the short path from idea to execution. If you come with an idea, it won’t get lost. We’ll get back to you, and if it makes sense, we’ll try it. And everyone will know it was yours.
From custom projects, we’re building one global product.
For 14 years, FLOWBOX built a custom solution for every customer. Along the way we gathered know-how that we’re now putting into one product – one that can be deployed anywhere in the world without custom development. Whoever joins now will help shape the product, not just maintain it.
The product team brings together people who have lived energy for years with people who bring a fresh product perspective. There’s plenty to respond to: companies generate and store their own energy, new regulations and standards keep coming. And AI, which is changing how we build the product and how we work every day.
“Energy is a field that really moves.”

We save companies money and carbon.
For a long time, energy was just a line on the invoice for companies. Today it’s a question of costs, reporting and reputation, and it’s handled by management. FLOWBOX brings what they’re missing: seeing exactly where energy is lost, and being able to change it.
The sales team sells directly and through partners. These are bigger investments and decisions take three to five months, so it’s about long-term relationships rather than quick deals. We’re looking for people who like to learn and want to follow a field that keeps changing.
“It has an impact on us as people, and on this planet.”
Who we sell to
Manufacturers, where energy is a big share of costs and every percent saved counts. Commercial real estate, such as shopping centres and office buildings. And cities and residential buildings that want their consumption under control.
What we sell
Software that collects metering data in one place, analyses it and automatically controls the technologies that consume energy, as well as those that generate or store it. The result: lower costs, a smaller carbon footprint and data for mandatory reporting.
What the market looks like
Regulations are getting stricter, yet many companies still manage energy in Excel or across several apps at once. Gartner includes us in its overview of energy management systems. The room for growth is huge.

Software, hardware and smart devices in one.
FLOWBOX isn’t just an app. It’s software, hardware, smart metering devices in buildings and integrations with other companies’ systems. The team is growing in every role: backend, frontend, DevOps, testing and design.
Energy is far behind on software, so there’s a lot to move forward. You don’t need industry experience – you’ll learn it here.
From the site survey to the data that saves customers money.
The delivery team takes FLOWBOX all the way to the customer. It handles the site survey, design, installation, commissioning, configuration and data analysis. Customers can then monitor, control, analyse and optimise their operations and residential buildings.
FLOWBOX isn’t just software – it also includes hardware and installation. The goal is for every deployment to be a reliable and predictable service.
“What I enjoy most is the end, when everything comes together and the customer can control and optimise their operations.”

We’re building a company that’s good to work for.
Energy is a demanding, interesting and very conservative industry. From the outside it’s often hard to tell how FLOWBOX actually works: as a fast-growing tech company behind a brand that has been on the market since 2012.
We’re building HR from scratch, together with our CEO Pavel: from hiring and onboarding to feedback and growth. Our people come from corporations, scale-ups and start-ups, and some have built their own companies. The structure is flat, so you can reach anyone, including management, directly.
“Whoever comes inside is pleasantly surprised.”
Not sure you’re a fit for the role?
Write to me anyway. We’re not looking for someone who ticks every line of the job ad, but for a person who fits us in experience, motivation and drive. And if you know exactly what you’d like to do with us but can’t see it among the roles, write too. We’ll talk it through in the intro call.
What you get
2–3 days in the office at Chodov, the rest of the week your way.
For everyone from day one.
Including English lessons.
A card for sport and exercise.
Thank-yous from colleagues you can swap for cinema tickets, a day off or hardware.
What we enjoy about our work
Colleagues from different teams, in their own words.

In technical customer support, he doesn’t count replies – he gets to the root of the problems clients come with. He enjoys how varied the work is and that he keeps learning something new. Since day one he has valued a team he can always turn to, and that in the office he can reach anyone without hierarchy.

She connects energy with the product: she brings together customer requirements and ever stricter regulations and turns them into features. What makes her happiest is how big a step forward it is compared to the Excel spreadsheets the energy sector still uses today. Physics led her to energy: after her first semester at university she found that electricity and magnetism were what she enjoyed most.
Our home is in Chodov
Park Chodov, a few minutes from metro line C. For us, the office is a place to collaborate, not to check attendance. We usually meet here two to three days a week, and you plan the rest of the week your way.

We meet outside the office too. A little differently every time.

What happens when you apply.
We know waiting for an answer is the worst. That’s why we get back to you after every step, and the whole thing usually takes less than a month.
You get in touch
A few sentences are enough: your background, which position caught your eye and why, or what kind of collaboration you’re looking for. We can then tailor the next conversation to you.
Intro call with Alžběta
We’ll introduce FLOWBOX and what the role involves beyond the job ad. We’ll find out whether we click as people and whether the way we work suits you, such as the company size or hybrid set-up.
Meeting the team
You’ll meet your future manager and colleagues. We tailor the format to the role and always tell you in advance what to expect. We’ll show you what we’re working on and talk about what you would bring to the role.
References and meeting Pavel, our CEO
First we’ll ask you for references. Then you’ll meet Pavel, who meets everyone who joins us. He isn’t testing you – he wants to get to know you. After that, an offer usually follows.
Hiring process FAQ
Didn’t find your answer? Write to Alžběta – she’ll be happy to explain anything.
Yes. We’re interested in the person first, not one specific role. If you’re not sure where you belong, send us an open application and we’ll find the right role together.
Sure, we use it every day ourselves. Just use it wisely: write a few sentences about yourself and your experience in your own words. We want to get to know you, not the model.
We set compensation individually based on your experience and what you bring to the role. We discuss your expectations in the intro call, so both sides know whether it makes sense to continue.
We run the hiring process in Czech.
There’s nothing to memorise. We’re interested in how you think and what you bring to the role. We’ll always tell you in advance exactly what to expect.
It applies to engineering roles. We don’t give take-home assignments. We want to see where you are technically and how you would work within the team.
Yes, and personal feedback, not a template email. We’ve been through corporations, scale-ups, start-ups and our own companies, so we know how much communication matters.
Some roles are prepared before we publish them. If you give us your consent, we’ll get in touch as soon as a position that suits you comes up.
Not sure about a position, but want to work with us? Write to us directly.
Only your email is required. We’ll get back to you within 5 working days – even if it doesn’t work out this time. Applications are read by Alžběta Hemerková, Head of People.
