Our Story: From Home Experiment to Energy Revolution

In 2012, Petr Vaněk, then Head of Research and Development at T-Mobile CE, decided to digitalize the technology in his house, creating a smart-home system prototype before such solutions became standard. His successful prototype inspired him to extend this technology to the industrial sector, where he established partnerships with early customers, including the visionary company Baumruk & Baumruk. Soon after, Tomáš Macák joined forces with Petr, forming a strong team that began expanding the platform into other areas, including Real Estate and Smart Cities. In 2018, Tomáš Rendla joined the team, taking FLOWBOX to a global level. We're proud that our solutions are used by global companies such as Assa Abloy and AGC, and that our innovative approach has earned us a place in the Gartner Market Guide for EMOS. None of this would have been possible without the amazing team of people behind FLOWBOX.

New role in the product team. You turn domain complexity into specs developers can actually work with.

On-site
Prague
Full Time
More information

Flowbox builds a software platform for energy management in industrial facilities, buildings, microgrids and energy communities. Our product runs on hundreds of installations across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This year we partnered with Eaton and are building Flowbox 2.0.

We've decided to go modular. To make that real, not just strategic - we need someone who can systematically turn custom patterns into reusable modules and get complex domain specs to a state where developers can actually start building. This role didn't exist before. We're opening it now.

How we work

You'll sit in the product team, working directly with our CPO Mirek and Energy Expert Jiřina. On one side, you have the Delivery team - Solution Architects and energy experts. On the other, developers. You translate between the two and make sure specs that reach the dev team are truly ready.

We work in YouTrack, GitLab, and Slack. AI tools are a normal part of how we work, not a bonus.

What you'll own

  • You get requirements to the point where they have a clear problem statement, acceptance criteria, proposed solution and effort estimate. Developers can start without another round of clarification.
  • You lead process discovery on complex topics - integration projects (OTE, EDC reporting), allocation logic in energy communities, billing inputs for LDS, end-to-end customer onboarding. You interview domain experts or customers, map the current state, propose the target state.
  • You look for repeating patterns across custom installations and propose how to turn them into configurable product modules.
  • You work with the team on complex problems - microgrid control logic, community allocation, EnPI rules, integration processes.
  • You won't write the algorithms, but you need to understand their inputs and outputs.

What you need

  • 3–6 years as a Senior BA, Product Owner or Technical PM in a B2B software company, with real outputs - shipped features or completed process changes, not just documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with process modeling (BPMN or equivalent) and discovery interviews as a natural part of how you work.
  • Enough technical understanding to discuss trade-offs with developers and be taken seriously. You don't need to code.
  • Domain knowledge in energy: tariff structures, ToU, reserved capacity, FV and BESS use cases, OTE/CDS reporting, ISO 50001, EnPI. You don't need to be an energy engineer - but you need to understand the context your customers operate in.
  • You use AI tools naturally, as part of how you get things done.
  • Data fluency: SQL at select/join/group by/having level, statistical literacy, ability to verify things yourself without waiting for the BI team.
  • Czech or Slovak native speaker, English professionally active.

Nice to have

  • Previous role in energy (plant energy manager, energy consultant, BA/PM in energy software).
  • Experience with JTBD or Continuous Discovery.
  • Rapid prototyping (Claude, Cursor, v0) to validate specs before development.
  • Experience with partner models (white-label, OEM).

What this role isn't

This isn't a role for someone who measures success in pages written. Diagrams and documentation are tools, not goals. If you'd rather draw BPMN than see it become a product feature, we're probably not a match.

We're looking for a partner, not an executor. You should be able to walk up to the CPO and say "I think we're doing this wrong" — and back it up. :-)

We'll help you with

  • How the FLOWBOX system and energy management ecosystem works.
  • Context on our customers, partners and the Eaton partnership.
  • Internal processes and workflow.

What we offer

  • Work on a product with real impact. Energy efficiency in industry, savings in the millions for our customers every year.
  • Direct collaboration with the CPO and a path to becoming Domain Owner of a vertical (Microgrid, Industry or LDS) within 12–18 months.
  • A seat at the table as we build modular architecture and product strategy 2.0.
  • Contractor (IČO) or employment contract, your choice.
  • Hybrid. 2–3 days a week in the office, the rest remote.
  • Office at Chodov Park, metro line C.
  • Multisport card, partially covered.
  • Learning budget (events, courses, webinars) and English lessons.
  • Team events that aren't mandatory.
  • TACO system — peer recognition you can spend on cinema tickets, a day off or hardware.

What happens next

Send us your CV and a few lines about what you're looking for. No formal cover letter needed.

First, a 30-minute call with Alžběta to align on expectations. Then a 45-minute call with Mirek (CPO) - motivation, Flowbox context, and a few energy domain questions. If there's a fit, you'll get a case study - a real (anonymised) request from our Delivery history. You'll work on it and then meet with the Product team to talk through it together.

The final step is an informal conversation with Pavel (CEO). We aim to wrap up the whole process in 3–4 weeks.

Not sure if this is the right fit? Reach out anyway - we're happy to talk it through. :-)

More information

Projects are growing and we're looking for someone to join our team. If you have your own ideas about how things should be done, we want to hear them.
You won't be alone. You'll work alongside Anička – each of you will have your own projects, but you'll help each other when needed. Your manager will be Martin. You'll be surrounded by people who know energy and understand tech.

You'll be in the middle of the action - without you, the project doesn't reach the customer. You'll work closely with Sales, the Software team, Support, and leadership.

Our stack includes YouTrack and Slack. We use AI tools where they make sense.

What will you do?

  • Own your clients and their projects from A to Z.
  • Take care of customers throughout the project - Sales closes the deal, you take the baton and handle communication and delivery of real value.
  • Keep an eye on deadlines, budgets, and quality - so the project stays on track and the client stays happy.
  • Coordinate specialists across projects and be the bridge between teams - making sure information gets where it needs to go.
  • Step in when things don't go as planned - our clients include companies with large-scale operations.

What we need from you

  • Experience managing projects (ideally in ICT or a technology company).
  • Excellent communication skills - in Czech and English.
  • Natural authority and the ability to lead meetings.
  • Flexibility, a systematic approach, and the ability to prioritize.
  • Basic understanding of the IT world - you know what an API is and understand how systems communicate.
  • You actually care about what's happening at the client's site.

A plus, not a must

  • Interest in energy, sustainability, or smart technologies.
  • A sense of humor. :-)

What we'll help you with

  • How the FLOWBOX system works and the entire energy management ecosystem.
  • Internal processes and workflows.
  • We'll provide context wherever it's needed.

What we offer

  • Work with modern technology that has a real impact.
  • Contract or employment, your choice.
  • Hybrid – 2 to 3 days a week in the office, the rest from home.
  • We're currently based in Vestec, but in April we're moving to new offices at Chodov metro station (line C).
  • Multisport card, partially covered.
  • Education budget (events, courses, webinars) and English classes.
  • Teambuildings that aren't mandatory. We've been to the mountains, rafted down the Berounka river, we cook together regularly, and organize company breakfasts, laser tag, or paintball.
  • We have TACO - we send each other recognition and collect points for a company e-shop with cinema tickets, a day off, or hardware picks.
  • A friendly environment and experienced colleagues who are happy to help.

Not sure if this is exactly for you? Reach out anyway and let's see. :-)

If you have a few years in product, can make decisions on your own, and don't want to just tick off tasks from someone else's list - this might be for you. We're looking for someone who wants to help shape how we do product here.

What's it like here?

For years, FLOWBOX ran in project mode. Now we're shifting to a product-first approach - and that change is happening right now.

We have the product, the customers, and the experience. But we're not a textbook product organization. The foundations are in place, the rest is still taking shape.
Your closest partner will be CPO Miro. You'll work across engineering, design, delivery, and sales.

Our stack includes YouTrack, GitLab, and Slack. We use AI where it helps - to learn faster and decide better.

What will you do?

  • Own a specific area of the product (e.g., energy data handling, optimization logic, or products related to renewables).
  • Be accountable for customers actually using this part of the product in real-world operations.
  • Translate customer and business needs into clear priorities, specs, and roadmap. Shorten the path from idea to validation - new ideas won't just be planned, they'll be quickly tested in practice.
  • Coordinate work across teams so your part of the product works as part of the whole. Keep delivery moving and focus the team on what brings the most value.

What we need from you

  • A few years in product management, ideally at a tech company.
  • You use data to make decisions and know how to balance speed, quality, and value. You understand enough tech to talk with developers about what matters. Discovery is part of your everyday work, not something you do once in a while. Solid English for daily use.

A plus, not a must

  • Hands-on experience with Product Design or rapid prototyping (Figma, interaction design, testing ideas before development).
  • Experience with data-heavy products - optimization models, predictive algorithms, automated decision-making.
  • Work in an international or fast-growing company where things changed quickly and roles weren't set in stone.

What we'll help you with

How the FLOWBOX system works and the entire energy management ecosystem. Business context, customers, and partners. Internal processes and workflows.

What we offer

  • Work on a real product.
  • Software that runs in factories and buildings around the world.
  • The opportunity to shape how product is done here.
  • Contract or employment, your choice.
  • Hybrid - 2 to 3 days a week in the office, the rest from home.
  • We're currently based in Vestec, but in April we're moving to new offices at Chodov metro station (line C).
  • Multisport card, partially covered.
  • Education budget (events, courses, webinars) and English classes.
  • Teambulding that aren't mandatory. We've been to the mountains, paddled down the Berounka river, we cook together regularly, and organize company breakfasts, laser tag, or paintball.
  • We have TACO - we send each other recognition and collect points for a company e-shop with cinema tickets, a day off, or hardware picks.
  • A team of experienced colleagues who like to share know-how.

Sound like your next step? We'd love to hear from you.

More information

Do you have a few years of B2B sales experience, ideally in software or technology? Are you drawn to energy efficiency and sustainability?
We're looking for a new colleague to join our Sales team.

You'll be acquiring new customers, managing the full sales cycle, and working closely with delivery, marketing, and technical teams.

What you'll be working on

  • Acquiring new customers - reaching out to companies dealing with energy efficiency, consumption monitoring, or ESG compliance.
  • Taking over leads from our partners and moving them through the sales cycle to close.
  • Running discovery meetings to understand customer challenges in energy management and offering solutions.
  • Guiding clients through the entire sales process - from first contact to signed contract.
  • Taking care of existing clients, renewing contracts, and expanding partnerships.
  • Working with CRM, preparing sales plans and reports.

What we're looking for

  • At least 2 years in a B2B sales role, ideally in IT, technology, or energy.
  • Experience selling complex solutions with longer sales cycles.
  • Ability to work with C-level stakeholders – directors, operations managers, technical leads.
  • Driver's license and willingness to travel across the country to meet clients.
  • Czech at a native or fluent level, English at a communicative level.

Extra things we appreciate

  • You already know people in manufacturing, real estate, or local government. These are our main segments, and it helps a lot.
  • You've worked with IoT, smart buildings, or industrial tech before.
  • You use LinkedIn for outreach, not just networking.
  • You're technically curious. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should be able to talk about energy monitoring, data flows, or SCADA without getting lost.

What we'll help you with

  • We'll walk you through the entire FLOWBOX ecosystem.
  • You'll learn the specifics of energy management and what keeps customers up at night.
  • The technical team will back you up on more complex customer questions.
  • We'll train you in a sales methodology that actually works.

What we offer

  • Work on a real product with measurable impact. Our clients actually save energy and reduce emissions.
  • A chance to shape the company's sales strategy. We're 40 people, not a corporation.
  • Compensation split into fixed and variable components based on KPIs.
  • Flexible setup. At the start, at least 3 days a week in the office. Over time, more time with clients or working from home.
  • We're currently based in Vestec, but in April we're moving to a new office at Chodov metro station (line C).
  • Multisport card, partially covered.
  • Learning budget (events, courses, webinars) and English classes.
  • Team events that aren't mandatory. We've been to the mountains, rafted down the Berounka river, we cook together regularly, host company breakfasts, laser tag, or paintball.
  • We have TACO. We send each other recognition points and collect them in a company store where you can get cinema tickets, a day off, or even hardware of your choice.
