New role in the product team. You turn domain complexity into specs developers can actually work with.
Flowbox builds a software platform for energy management in industrial facilities, buildings, microgrids and energy communities. Our product runs on hundreds of installations across the Czech Republic and Slovakia. This year we partnered with Eaton and are building Flowbox 2.0.
We've decided to go modular. To make that real, not just strategic - we need someone who can systematically turn custom patterns into reusable modules and get complex domain specs to a state where developers can actually start building. This role didn't exist before. We're opening it now.
How we work
You'll sit in the product team, working directly with our CPO Mirek and Energy Expert Jiřina. On one side, you have the Delivery team - Solution Architects and energy experts. On the other, developers. You translate between the two and make sure specs that reach the dev team are truly ready.
We work in YouTrack, GitLab, and Slack. AI tools are a normal part of how we work, not a bonus.
What you'll own
- You get requirements to the point where they have a clear problem statement, acceptance criteria, proposed solution and effort estimate. Developers can start without another round of clarification.
- You lead process discovery on complex topics - integration projects (OTE, EDC reporting), allocation logic in energy communities, billing inputs for LDS, end-to-end customer onboarding. You interview domain experts or customers, map the current state, propose the target state.
- You look for repeating patterns across custom installations and propose how to turn them into configurable product modules.
- You work with the team on complex problems - microgrid control logic, community allocation, EnPI rules, integration processes.
- You won't write the algorithms, but you need to understand their inputs and outputs.
What you need
- 3–6 years as a Senior BA, Product Owner or Technical PM in a B2B software company, with real outputs - shipped features or completed process changes, not just documentation.
- Hands-on experience with process modeling (BPMN or equivalent) and discovery interviews as a natural part of how you work.
- Enough technical understanding to discuss trade-offs with developers and be taken seriously. You don't need to code.
- Domain knowledge in energy: tariff structures, ToU, reserved capacity, FV and BESS use cases, OTE/CDS reporting, ISO 50001, EnPI. You don't need to be an energy engineer - but you need to understand the context your customers operate in.
- You use AI tools naturally, as part of how you get things done.
- Data fluency: SQL at select/join/group by/having level, statistical literacy, ability to verify things yourself without waiting for the BI team.
- Czech or Slovak native speaker, English professionally active.
Nice to have
- Previous role in energy (plant energy manager, energy consultant, BA/PM in energy software).
- Experience with JTBD or Continuous Discovery.
- Rapid prototyping (Claude, Cursor, v0) to validate specs before development.
- Experience with partner models (white-label, OEM).
What this role isn't
This isn't a role for someone who measures success in pages written. Diagrams and documentation are tools, not goals. If you'd rather draw BPMN than see it become a product feature, we're probably not a match.
We're looking for a partner, not an executor. You should be able to walk up to the CPO and say "I think we're doing this wrong" — and back it up. :-)
We'll help you with
- How the FLOWBOX system and energy management ecosystem works.
- Context on our customers, partners and the Eaton partnership.
- Internal processes and workflow.
What we offer
- Work on a product with real impact. Energy efficiency in industry, savings in the millions for our customers every year.
- Direct collaboration with the CPO and a path to becoming Domain Owner of a vertical (Microgrid, Industry or LDS) within 12–18 months.
- A seat at the table as we build modular architecture and product strategy 2.0.
- Contractor (IČO) or employment contract, your choice.
- Hybrid. 2–3 days a week in the office, the rest remote.
- Office at Chodov Park, metro line C.
- Multisport card, partially covered.
- Learning budget (events, courses, webinars) and English lessons.
- Team events that aren't mandatory.
- TACO system — peer recognition you can spend on cinema tickets, a day off or hardware.
What happens next
Send us your CV and a few lines about what you're looking for. No formal cover letter needed.
First, a 30-minute call with Alžběta to align on expectations. Then a 45-minute call with Mirek (CPO) - motivation, Flowbox context, and a few energy domain questions. If there's a fit, you'll get a case study - a real (anonymised) request from our Delivery history. You'll work on it and then meet with the Product team to talk through it together.
The final step is an informal conversation with Pavel (CEO). We aim to wrap up the whole process in 3–4 weeks.
Not sure if this is the right fit? Reach out anyway - we're happy to talk it through. :-)
