Czech technology company FLOWBOX has entered into a strategic collaboration with Eaton, a U.S.-based global leader in intelligent power management. As part of the agreement, Eaton will also become a minority investor in FLOWBOX and will include its software in Eaton’s global portfolio of digital solutions.
FLOWBOX will serve as a technology provider for Eaton’s digital platform in the field of energy management. Its software will be deployed in commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings worldwide.
“Eighteen months — that’s how long it took to get from the first conversation to signing the agreement. During that time, alongside extensive legal, financial, and technical due diligence, we successfully completed fifteen pilot installations across three continents — while maintaining the company’s day-to-day operations,” says Pavel Jiránek, CEO of FLOWBOX.
FLOWBOX’s technological maturity has also been recognized by analysts at Gartner, who included the company - as the only Czech firm - among the Sample Vendors in both the Hype Cycles and the Market Guide for EMOS.
FLOWBOX Remains an Independent Company
The collaboration is long-term and strategic in nature; it is not an acquisition. FLOWBOX will retain its own leadership, product roadmap, and direct relationships with customers. Integration into Eaton’s ecosystem will take place through technological collaboration and the expansion of distribution channels.
“For our existing customers, nothing changes. The collaboration will bring a stronger foundation and further acceleration of innovation,” adds Pavel Jiránek.
Organizational Changes at FLOWBOX
FLOWBOX, named European Startup of the Year in 2022, continues to grow. The company is now officially led by Pavel Jiránek, who played a key role in establishing the collaboration with Eaton and currently leads the company’s product and business strategy. The team will expand this year, and the company will relocate from Vestec to new offices in Prague’s Chodov district.
A Shared Vision for Digital Energy
Today’s energy sector is no longer just about hardware. Software, data, and the ability to manage complex systems in real time play a crucial role. The collaboration with Eaton will enable FLOWBOX to contribute to the development of global digital solutions in the field of energy management.
