The goal of implementing the FLOWBOX system at Volvo Truck Centers is to introduce an advanced energy monitoring and management tool that supports ESG goals, reduces carbon footprint, and improves overall energy efficiency. The project is also designed to:

  • Enable detailed consumption tracking and reporting
  • Coordinate production, consumption, and energy storage
  • Prevent penalties by managing 15-minute demand peaks
  • Digitalize and centralize technology management
  • Enable remote control and monitoring
  • Gradually expand to all truck centers across the country

Expected Benefits

The FLOWBOX system is expected to bring measurable value in the following areas:

  • Reduction of carbon footprint through optimized energy use
  • Centralized management of energy and technology, with remote access and emergency alert capabilities
  • Automated reporting, saving time and supporting ESG compliance
  • Identification of inefficiencies via detailed consumption tracking across specific operational zones
  • Over 100 measurement points per site for granular data analysis
  • 17 truck centers planned for deployment by the end of 2025
  • 7 locations with active technology control, plus monitoring and analysis at 10 others

What Volvo Group Says About FLOWBOX

“We chose FLOWBOX because we needed a smart and flexible system to help us manage energy across our truck centers more efficiently. It allows us to keep everything under control from one place and scale gradually to additional locations. In the future, we expect it to help manage solar production, battery storage, and spot market purchases — enabling savings and greater energy independence.”
